The GBA Halal Certification Centre (GHCC) extends its heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the 14th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE), held from 10 to 12 April 2026 in Macau. As one of Asia Pacific’s influential annual tourism events, MITE served as a crucial platform for us to debut our expertise at the “Silk Road · Halal Products Pavilion” and strengthen connections with the global tourism industry.

We engaged in extensive discussions with international and Macao tourism professionals, promoting the vital role of Halal certification in the development of Muslim tourism.The GHCC emphasized that Halal certification transcends standards for food and products; it is an essential part of the travel experience, providing Muslim travelers with necessary assurance and trust. By offering genuinely Muslim-friendly facilities and services, Macao can effectively meet the demands of this growing market.

GHCC’s strength lies in our robust expertise in product certification, backed by a strong and dedicated Shariah team. Our leadership and insights were highlighted when Ms. Sharifa Leung, General Manager of GHCC, was honored to speak at the “Muslim Travel Opportunities Salon”. Sharifa shared unique insights into the pressure known as the “Constant Calculation”—the continuous need for Muslim visitors in non-Muslim regions to verify that all aspects of their journey comply with their faith.
Sharifa stressed that truly Muslim-friendly tourism goes beyond just providing Halal meals or prayer facilities. More importantly, it involves offering “Psychological Certainty”. This means providers must actively ease up concerns, allowing Muslim travelers to relax and enjoy their journey without constant worry. GHCC’s Halal certification services are precisely designed to help the tourism industry achieve this goal, creating worry-free travel experiences for Muslim visitors.
